LG has unveiled its first gaming laptop, which it calls 17G90Q. Based on the design of the gram line, the UltraGear laptop has a relatively slim profile for what it is. Measuring 21.4mm thick and weighing under 2.7kg, it’s still quite portable despite having a 93Wh battery. The chassis is made from aluminum, which helps boost its premium appeal.

Inside, there’s an 11th Gen Intel Tiger Lake H processor, NVIDIA GeForceTM RTX 3080 Max-Q graphics card, dual-channel memory and an NVMe SSD with up to 1TB capacity. Like the name suggests, the laptop has a 17-inch IPS panel with 300Hz refresh rate and 1milisecond response time. A vapor chamber in the chassis helps with cooling and allows the 17G90Q to run cool despite being pushed to its limits.

“The LG UltraGear gaming laptop has everything needed to tackle the latest high-spec games, delivering the smooth, responsive gameplay that all gamers want,” said Seo Young-jae, senior vice president and head of the IT business unit of LG Electronics Business Solutions Company.

The company says that it can produce decent audio quality due to the built-in 2-way speaker system. This hardware supports DTS:X ultra which help them accurately convey the action as it appears on screen. Many laptop manufacturers claim to offer this, but only a few are able to deliver on the promise.

This is full breakdown of the specifications:

LG will initially launch the 17G90Q in the US and South Korea in the first quarter of 2022, later on, it should become available in other markets as well.
