Beam Mobility Malaysia is playing a crucial role in promoting public transport usage in Malaysia by facilitating first and last-mile journeys to key transit locations. Their compact and accessible e-scooters are enabling Malaysians to cover several kilometers within minutes, making previously inaccessible areas like commercial centers and public transit stations more reachable.

With support from the government, authorities, and local councils, Beam Mobility has expanded its shared e-scooter services in popular public transit points, commercial centers, and residential neighborhoods across the country. In 2022 alone, over 1,000,000 trips were taken on Beam’s e-scooters, with more than 93,000 trips specifically to and from public transit locations.

Notably, the LRT Ara Damansara and Bukit Jalil stations were among the most popular destinations, with an average of 1,607 and 1,445 rides respectively on Beam’s e-scooters. Bus stops, such as the Arc bus stop in Cyberjaya, also served as popular connections for Beam riders, with over 370 monthly rides.

As the government continues to enhance Malaysia’s public transportation system, Beam Mobility remains committed to encouraging Malaysians to use public transport by providing e-scooters.

With the full opening of the MRT2 Putrajaya Line, Beam has stationed its e-scooters at all stations between Metro Prima and Tun Razak Exchange (TRX), promoting commuting in and around the city via public transportation. Additionally, riders on the MRT2 Putrajaya Line can conveniently access popular hotspots and parks near their respective stations using Beam’s e-scooters.

In a bid to provide safer and more convenient transportation on university campuses, Beam has partnered with nine universities across Malaysia. This initiative has been well-received by students and faculty members, who now have a practical alternative for campus travel.

In the first quarter of 2023 alone, Beam recorded a total of 51,634 trips on e-scooters, averaging around 17,211 trips per month on Malaysian university campuses. This not only reduces on-campus traffic congestion but also significantly cuts carbon emissions by over 6,000kg/CO2 per month.

With the growing ridership and positive response, Beam plans to expand its e-scooter services to more cities in Malaysia.
